Bludomain Reviewcustomer Service

How in the world is a customer supposed to pay for a service if they don't know where to send the payment or the amount due. I would message asking for an invoice (as SO …

I am a professional photographer and love my website. I found out that my website had been parked, www.duaneheaton.com. I then contacted bludomain regarding it. I was informed that I had failed to pay the $15.00 domain name fee. I sent the money via paypal.
I then received an email saying stating that my domain was delinquent for 19 days and I would have to pay $85.00 more in order to have my domain and website back up and running. I was also told that I my site was parked after 18 days! So for 1 day I was going to be charged $85.00. The issue can about because the invoices that they claim they sent went to a wrong email address. I tested the email they claimed to have on file, the result was a bounced email! So their customer service department could not find me from going to my website and clicking on the contact page and this would have ended, but they did not. After 4 more emails, I agreed to the $85.00.
After I submitted the amount via paypal, I received the following email:
Duane — I am told this morning your domain is past 76 day due and the domain went back into the public pool and someone else had it on back-order.
Are you sure that is not you. If not then your domain has been secured by someone else.
Sincerely,
Aundrea
I will refund your $85.00

So now my domain name is owned by a japanese company that has nothing to do with me or duane heaton photography.
My business will be crushed by this company and their lack of the simplest thought processes.

May 2022 I have had my email and web site with BluDomain since 2009. I suddenly was unable to receive or send emails, and my web site that I spent years creating was gone on, or around May 2nd. I have sent several emails to customer service from my personal email referencing my BluDomain account with no response whatsoever. It appears after reading other recent reviews that BluDomain is eliminating, without justification, many long time BluDomain customers. That is an unforgivable travesty. I would not recommend BluDomain to even my worst enemy! With regard to the five star rating, I doubt BluDomain would even have a one star rating if there were a zero star rating available.

I feel like this review is going to be VERY redundant, as most of the other reviews express my sentiments almost to a T.

BluDomain is downright scaly. I cannot fathom how they are still in business. Don't let their beautiful website fool you. Once you are a customer they couldn't care less about you! They WILL NOT respond to messages. You cannot call them. You cannot email them. You need to send your inquiries through their website, and then they proceed to ignore you.

Every. Single. Year they would shut my site down for non-payment...but they don't send invoices? How in the world is a customer supposed to pay for a service if they don't know where to send the payment or the amount due. I would message asking for an invoice (as SO MANY other reviewers have had to do!) and when they finally did respond the message back was insanely condescending stating that it must be my email provider who isn't delivering the messages. I checked my inbox and spam folders multiple times, there were no invoices.

Today I found out that my domain was SOLD and to get it back I will have to pay THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! I am a small business and I rely heavily on my website for clients. BluDomain has basically shut me down. My inquiries have slowed to almost nothing. My website has been down since the beginning of June and it is now the middle of August. I have been BEGGING them since June to help me and they just absolutely won't.

The last message that I got from them simply stated "We don't have your domain name anymore"... One line. That was LITERALLY all they wrote. Of course you don't. You sold it!

BUYER BEWARE. I have done so much research in the past couple of months and there are SO MANY GOOD companies to host with... don't make the same mistake that I, and so many others, have made. Stay FAR FAR away from BluDomain and Aundrea Hasselbach, the registered owner. What a complete joke!

I have taken this issue to the BBB and Aundrea Hasselbach hasn't responded. She won't. Most of the BBB reviews have gone unresolved. The next step will be legal action.

“Beautiful sites but they don’t work as well as you would expect. The customer service is awful. Often times I just never get a response. When they do respond it’s days later, if you have more than one concern listed in your support ticket be assured you will not get them all answered in one e-mail…they just don’t care about their customers.”

“BluDomain offers stylish and reasonably priced websites, however, their customer service just crosses over what their developers have to offer. The templates are often delivered late, the bugs are fixed long, emails rarely returned and the phone doesn’t answer. With such service it’s impossible to run your website properly.”

Thoughts On Bludomain Customer Service

A forum thread in FORUMS Post Processing, Marketing & Presenting Photos The Business of Photography

I bought my template on the 13th, got an email on the 14th confirming my purchase. on the 16th I received another email with my username and password to allow me to access my template to make changes.

I sent them a request to go live early on the 22nd. Less than 24 hours later my site went live.

Just before I went live I sent them an email/support ticket asking if I could change my template. They responded within a couple hours stating that I couldn't, but I could buy the other template. I replied back asking if I had to pay another $100 for them to host the site. A response was received almost immediately saying that I DIDN'T have to pay an additional $100 since I was hosting with them already.

I just sent them another ticket requesting a CNAME be created so that people can have a masked URL when they get sent to exposuremanager to view proofs/galleries. That's one disappointment I have in Bludomain. They don't have a fulfillment service. I guess that's not a customer service issue, though.

Looks like Blu's coming out of the hole they found themselves in. I have been completely satisfied w/ their response time so far.

See, this REALLY pisses me off!!!! (not at you guys) I ordered my site Dec 27th have sent support tickets, e-mails ect, and have yet to recieve anything that even acknowledges my purchase, when people who bought sites WEEKS after I did can already start working on theirs! By reading their blogs, I've seen I'm not the only one. I'm just super frustrated ~sigh~ thanks for letting me vent.

Exactly they are HORRIBLE. Have you also notice they don't have the comments turned on anymore on their blog page? It was getting blasted by comments.

Canon | Mac

If you go to 'blu news' under the blog section, the top comment box is still open, and has some pretty pissy comments on it. That was good buisness sense removing the boxes, because people were outraged and likely scaring away new customers (too bad I didn't see it first). What happens if everyone who feels abandoned like me makes a chargeback on their CC or paypal? Am I mistaken, or will they not dump Blu's account with them after so many complaints?

Bludomain Is Great Customer Service Is Fast Too Am I Crazy

A forum thread in FORUMS Post Processing, Marketing & Presenting Photos The Business of Photography

I've read a lot of the threads about bludomain, and have heard the pros (nice/simple/clean flash sites) and cons (supposedly horrendous customer service), but I was in need of a quick new site....and the cost of a bludomain site seemed worth the risk.

So, I went ahead and bought the "mika" template, and used my host (not their hosting, which is supposed to be bad....but I can't comment on that). Even though I ordered on a Sunday afternoon (and they specifically say their hours are mon-fri in all emails/correspondence/etc), I had an email in my inbox a couple hours later from a real-life person (not an auto-responder) an hour later with all the instructions for the information I needed to give them in order for them to build my site.

It took me a few days to get all the necessary info from my host (not because it was difficult info, but for the fact that my host/good friend was too busy to answer anything!), but within 10 minutes I received an email telling me my site would be delivered by midnight, that evening. 6 hours later, (7pm) my site had been installed, and my bludomain admin panel was active and working. It took me all of 2 hours to get my site up to snuff, and I'm very impressed with the results.

My only issue/frustration was that I couldn't get the "contact" or "about" pages to properly load. I sent an email to customer service, and after I had filled out the inquiry it showed a FAQ related to my wording in my question.....one of which described exact problem and told me that I needed to upload an image on that page in order for it to work. Sure enough, that did the trick. Even though I figured it out, I got a reply to that service ticket with instructions to upload images (again from a real-life person, not an autoresponder) literally within 30 minutes of my inquiry.

I know there's no phone support (unless you request they give you a call), and there are certainly some drawbacks to flash-sites (although they offer a couple html sites as well....and their flash sites have simple ways to enter keywords), but I must admit that I'm thoroughly impressed by my experience with them. For a quick/cheap/good solution to a new website, bludomain worked wonderfully.

oh, and here's my new site:
It's just my architecture work (with a little catalog/tabletop work) aimed at that side of my business, instead of scaring them off with half-naked ladies and sadhus from india on my other site, )

(I'm in no way affiliated to, or profiting from, Bludomain. I'm just a happy customer, who was wary about going with them after reading complaints about customer service....but I really think they must've made some serious changes for the better, as I have only been impressed.)

My name is Jeff, and I'm addicted to shadows in fashion and brights in architecture. "Hiiiiii Jeff."

I never really experienced any customer service related issues with blu either. I recently built my own site (again) and have full customization over everything, which I thoroughly enjoy. Blu was nice for ease of use, but I didnt want to continue to have a "me too" site...

I don't have a huge problem with them either - occasional missed questions when I was working with them, but nothing critical.

I host with them and that has been reliable and easy - coming from someone who used to host sites for people, I'm picky.

Keep Away From Bludomain Disgusting Service

Bludomain and their idea of customer service In reply to Vance Zachary • May 14, 2008 Vance Zachary • May 14, 2008

I decided to change/upgrade our website earlier the year; I wanted a smoother, more “refined” look and went with Bludomain. The main reason I went with them was the great customer service a good friend of mine had with them Dec/Jan timeframe. According to him things went really great. I decided to take the plunge early Feb. It was like pulling teeth! Worse customer service I have ever encountered (as a new customer you’re assigned a concierge who will contact you to help in your design. I was never contacted; I put the entire site together myself with no help from anyone at Bludomain). The only good thing I have to say other that the site was inexpensive is that once its live things get much better. I had a minor problem within a couple days of going live which was my fault however two very quick emails later problem was resolved. Since then, my same friend decided to host another site and got the same horrible customer service as I did the first time. Would I do it again?

Anyone looking at Bludomain should be aware of the poor customer service. It appears that they just got too big too fast and haven’t been able to keep or catch up with their growth. I would recommend Bludomain with the following caveat: Don’t expect things to be done overnight. Don’t expect to see a high quality of customer service. With this in mind you get a choice of nice to really good web designs to choose from at a reasonable price. So bottom line is you have to go into this endeavor knowing that you will have a lot of frustration however the end result can be worthwhile.
